To say I was surprised by the verdict of “no indictment” of Darren Wilson, the police officer who killed Michael Brown, would be a lie, but I still had hope for a different outcome. One in which the police officer would have at least been charged with excessive force, or where the police department took some responsibility for the actions of one of their own or lastly, a scene from Ferguson, MO, that does not resemble a throwback picture from the Civil Rights movement.

I’m not opposed to diversity and inclusion—I just don’t have time to think about it. And honestly, I feel like it’s forced on me and my co-workers, says the majority of your workforce that don’t fall into a diverse category.
